Despite Guam having only two seasons – sunny and rainy – I do still enjoy some Fall fashion with warm dark colors, sweaters and light layering. So, without further ado – as part of a collaboration with PinkBlush – here are my top Fall favorites from their plus size line!
Just a quick reminder: PinkBlush is a trendy online boutique that carries straight and plus sizes that cater to women in all stages of life, especially maternity. I’ve reviewed other dresses from PinkBlush – all of which I love – so click here, here and here if you’d like to check them. Oh, and for sizing reference, I’m wearing 3X for all clothing and I’m 5’9″.
Falling for this dress
I am absolutely in love with this navy floral hi-low plus wrap dress! It’s actually one of my top favorites from PinkBlush. It’s a piece I often catch myself reaching for in my closet. It’s floral and it’s in my favorite color – navy blue, makes it look nautical, yet, feminine. The modest V-neck from the wrap design allows for some skin without looking too provocative. I’m also really digging the short sleeves because I have pretty big arms, so range of motion is a huge factor for me. It really allows for decent mobility and a comfy fit without worrying about ripping at the seams. The material is medium in thickness. This dress is perfect for work or even date night. I would pair it with a white pearl necklace and diamond earrings. For footwear, I would go with brown/tan or black chubby heels. To kick it up for nautical look, a bold red lip will do. For something more subtle, dusty rose tones would be perfect!
Swooning for this sweater
You can’t do a Fall favorites list without including a sweater! I had to snatch this beige, floral-print, long-sleeve plus sweater up the moment I saw it – its floral pattern screams Fall season! It’s super comfortable because of the stretch it allows. It’s something I can just throw on if I need to quickly head out the door. Even though Guam is so hot, the sweater material isn’t too thick to where I’m sweating bullets. (And trust me! I sweat the moment I step foot out the door!) Personally, I don’t think an undershirt is necessary. The material is thick enough to keep you warm, as a sweater should, but the material is light enough to act as a regular top; it’s not oversized. And score! For all you ladies with bigger arms, the sleeves fit perfectly! And lastly, this sweater also comes with two pockets toward the front for a feminine, yet, casual athleisure look. To complete the look, I would pair the sweater with black leggings and white sneakers.
And now for some layering! How gorgeous is this black, floral-print long plus kimono. If I can be honest… Growing up as a plus woman on an island, layering is something that almost never crosses my mind. I’ve never really been into kimonos until this past summer. Personally, I like to style them over sleeveless tops, paired with either denim skinnies or black leggings. And depending on whether you’re going shopping or out with friends to a bar, I could pair the look with either white sneakers or black lace-up heels or booties. One thing I really love about kimonos is how they cover you up without making you look so bulky. With this kimono, it’s long, but the material is very thin and sheer.
